CARBON BRAKES MOD for BPR GT:
 -version 1.0

Thanks for downloading this small mod to the BPR Endurance GT Mod of F12002. The "Carbon Brakes Mod for BPR GT" is meant to be a small addition to the realism of the BPR Endurance GT Mod. It replaces the cross-drilled metal brake rotor texture with a floating carbon slotted rotor texture. It also replaces the "brake glow" texture with one that covers the entire rotor surface (or at least where the caliper touches it).

This mod has not been tested on anything other than the BPR Mod for F12002, and it might not work with any other mods. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to email me. If you wish to distribute this mod, please email me for permission first so that I will know where it is going. Finding and editing the perfect brake rotor images took a long time. So if you use it in a mod of your own, please give me credit and let me know so I can enjoy it too!

REASON FOR THIS MOD:
It bothered me that the brake rotor glow effect included in the original F12002 game and BPR Endurance GT Mod was not covering the whole surface of the brake rotor. Also, it bothered me that the brake rotor material was metallic rather than carbon as on the real McLaren F1 GTR's and the Ferrari F40's. This mod is meant to fix these slight oversights.

FILES INCLUDED IN DOWNLOAD:
-DISCGLOW.TGA - replaces original glow effect with this new larger and brighter one.
-ROTOR00.BMP -carbon rotor rotating at full speed.
 -ROTOR01.BMP -carbon rotating medium speed.
 -ROTOR02.BMP -new carbon rotor, non-rotating
 -CARBON_b-a.jpg -before and after pic
-readme_carbon_brakes.txt - this read me file

HOW TO INSTALL:
Simply place the TGA and BMP files into the vehicle folder of your choice. For example, if you want the carbon brakes to appear on the 1995 LeMans-winning Ueno Clinic McLaren F1, then place DISCGLOW.TGA, ROTOR00.BMP, ROTOR01.BMP, AND ROTOR02.BMP anywhere in the \F1 2002\BPR1996Season\Vehicles\Kokusai Kaikatsu Racing\ folder. Unfortunately, if that car runs with any of the other cars on the track, then all of the rotors will be replaced (as far as I can tell). I am working on a way to change this.

Alternatively, you can load the same files (TGA and 3 BMP's) into your cmaps.mas file (remembering of course to make a backup). Then the new rotor as well as the bigger and brighter glow effect will appear on every car in the BPR series for sure. To do this, you will need MAStudio2002. This can be obtained at many sites. Just type in "mastudio2002" into Google and you can take your pick.
